13 Mar Fraser joins Morton on emergency loan
Morton have announced the signing of Gary Fraser from Ladbrokes Premiership side Partick Thistle on an emergency loan until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Jags from Bolton, initially on loan, in 2013 but has battled injury over the last couple of seasons.
Fraser returned to the Jags side as a substitute against Rangers in November, the first of only five appearances this campaign, his last being the 2-0 defeat by Celtic at Parkhead on December 20.
The former Hamilton player will be available for Tuesday night’s Ladbrokes Championship fixture away at Livingston.
Ton manager Jim Duffy told gmfc.net: “Gary is a very talented player who has had a few injury problems over the last year and I think that’s impacted on his opportunities at Partick Thistle.
“When he has played prior to his injury, he’s shown he’s a very gifted footballer.
“He’s got a good range of passing, can get into the box, score goals, he’s a good acquisition and will complement the players we have.
“Three or four weeks ago, I wasn’t really looking at that area of the pitch, because I was hoping the likes of perhaps Thommo (Robert Thomson) and Lee Kilday were a bit closer to the first-team.
“Unfortunately, that’s not been the case so with the games coming thick and fast, we felt it was important to strengthen and he’ll be in the squad tonight.”
