We are playing Celtic in Glasgow and the odds on a Hamilton win are long to say the least!

It is a day I will never forget and one many Accies fans will cherish for a very long time.

We hadn’t won there in 76 years, but there was something different about this team. We were confident and had just beaten our great rivals Motherwell 4-0, so we had nothing to fear against Ronny Deila’s Celtic team.

We rode our luck in the first half, as you need to do against Celtic in their own backyard, but we also had chances missed.

Then, early in the second half, we broke clear and from Stephen Hendrie’s cross,
I dispatched the ball into the back of the net.

Silence.

Then, a small roar from the Accies fans in the corner. The feeling of silencing the home support was amazing, we were one nil up!

My Mum, Dad and Papa were all there in the stand and my girlfriend was back in the house pacing up and down, hoping we could hold on for the win.

Alex Neil was a great boss and he knew how to get the best out of us. He was also a calm head one minute and explosive the next. We needed both on that day.

We held on for a famous win and went top of the league, six points clear of Celtic.

I walked to the car in a daze after the game and my Dad asked me what was wrong? I said nothing, I am still pinching myself to take it all in. Celtic 0-1 Hamilton. Amazing!
