I’m on loan in 2015 to Falkirk from Aberdeen.

We are at home against Rangers, we are unbeaten in seven games and feeling confident. The stadium is packed and the atmosphere is electric as we are awarded a dubious penalty by Willie Collum after three minutes. John Baird is scoring goals for fun and duly sticks it into the back of the net. There’s eighty-seven minutes left and I am thinking, we could get a draw here!

Barrie McKay scores with a volley that I have no chance of saving to make it 1-1 at half-time. Ten minutes into the second-half, Will Vaulks scores against the run of play and suddenly we are in front again. Now, I am thinking, I’m going to get peppered here and I was right. Rangers threw everything at us. I was making good saves and we were blocking everything until Blair Alston tried to clear the ball and it struck his hand with seconds remaining in the game. Penalty!

I don’t study players previous penalties, I just watched Martyn Waghorn’s body angle and dived to my left to tip the ball onto the post. It then rolled right across the goal-line behind my back and away to safety. It’s one of the best nights I’ve had and the feeling was amazing when the ref blew his whistle and the boys are all jumping on me celebrating our 2-1 win.
