“I’m a professional footballer. All I ever wanted to do was play football, nothing else mattered. My favourite player was Zinedine Zidane. He was world class and his movement and skill amazed me, then and still to this day. If I wasn’t playing football, I would almost certainly be watching it or maybe playing golf. My uncle Edward took me to see Celtic when I was a boy.

There are many great games I could pick as my favourite, but one stands out; Rangers 3-3 Celtic at Ibrox. It was the day when Andy Goram produced a world class save from Pierre van Hooijdonk. Rangers had a team littered with top class players, but Celtic had Paul McStay pulling the strings. Andreas Thom scored a great goal that day, John Collins netted a penalty and Pierre headed the equaliser in a game that had everything.”
