It was a night I will never forget at Pittodrie.

A place in the last 32 of the Uefa cup is at stake against FC Copenhagen. The Danes needed a point, we had to win.

Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl were the perfect combination as manager and assistant. Their banter was top class, but when they were serious, we were focussed.

The first half belonged to the Danes, but it was still 0-0. The second half we came out of the traps flying and Jamie Smith put us ahead after 47 minutes and added a second soon after.

The whole place was bouncing and I am claiming the third as my cross was deflected into the net to make it 3-0. The fourth was scored by Ricky Foster to seal our win and set us up in the next round against Bayern Munich.

The dressing room afterwards was mayhem, you’d think we had just won the Champions League!

I swapped my shirt with a Copenhagen player, not the guy who was marking me, because I had battered him for the entire 90 minutes and I am not so sure he would have been happy to exchange anything else with me at the end of the game.
