Berget: I always knew I had the ability

Malmo attacker Jo Inge Berget says he didn’t do himself justice in a Celtic top but never loss faith in his ability.

Berget came back to haunt the Hoops after a unsuccessful loan spell at the Scottish champions last season.

The Norwegian scored a double for Malmo – his second coming seconds before the final whistle – to blow the Champions League play-off wide open at 3-2.

“It was two good goals and it was a good away result for us,” he told reporters after the game.

“It would have been even better if we had won 2-0, but we should be happy with how it ended.

“My time at Celtic didn’t go as I had hoped so it was good to come here and have a good game. 3-2 is a lot better than 3-1, but we still have to win at home.

“They were two important goals to keep this tie alive for the club, and personally it was good to get two goals here.

“Some of the fans booed a bit but after the game I got some claps as well, so that proves that they are good guys.

“I’ve always known that I could do that, but I wasn’t at my best when I was at Celtic – I’m the first to admit that.”
