Celtic and Rangers handed home draws

Celtic and Rangers have both been given home draws in the Scottish League Cup third round.

The Hoops, who won the Cup last year, face Championship side Raith Rovers, while Rangers have been given Premiership opposition in the form of St Johnstone.

Raith won this competition over 20 years ago when they beat Celtic on penalties in 1994.

It’s a re-run of last season’s quarter-final tie between Rangers and Saints. The Ibrox club won 1-0 that day.

Elsewhere, 2015 Runners up Dundee United entertain in-form League One side Dunfermline at Tannadice. While Hearts have an all-Premiership clash against Kilmarnock after an impressive start to the season.

Ties are to be played on September 22, 23 in midweek.
