Celtic will be too strong for Molde, says Johansen

Stefan Johansen believes Celtic will be too strong for Norwegian champions Molde when the sides meet at the Aker Stadion on Thursday.

Celtic are still looking for their first win of the Europa league this season, while Molde top Group A after taking four points from games against Fenerbahce and Ajax.

Yet for Johansen, returning to his homeland holds no fears for the midfielder.

“This is the reason why I went from Norway to Scotland. The league is stronger,” he said.

“Celtic are a better team than Molde and the Scottish League is in my eyes a notch up from the Tippeligaen.

“At the same time, I see that teams such as Molde, Rosenborg, Valerenga and Stromsgodset could certainly do well in Scotland.

“It is still going to be tough for us to go to Molde and win.

“Vegard (Forren) and Martin (Linne) I know well from the national team, and in addition, I am good friends with Harmeet (Singh), Fredrik (Gulbrandsen) and a lot of the boys there.”
