Dipo Akinyemi has posted a farewell message to Ayr United after confirming his move to National League side York City.
The 26-year old won Championship PFA Player of the Year last season after notching 24 goals in 46 games.
Taking to Twitter the forward said:
“Today I say goodbye to the club that gave me the platform to be the player I am today. What a rollercoaster season we had together. A year ago I was playing for Welling United and delivering food on my pedal bike am now I leave this wholesome club SPFL Championship Player of the Year and Top Goal Scorer.”
“I just want to say thank you to everyone associated with Ayr United, it as been one of the best chapters in my football career so far.”
“Thank you to Lee Bullen and my teammates for supporting me throughout the season and helping me from the day I set foot in the building. I wish every single one of you boys a long and successful career”
“To the Ayr Fans thank you for your welcoming me and supporting me. I’ve loved every moment with you guys. You guys stuck by me even though it took me a couple game to find the net so I am grateful. I wish Ayr United all the best for the future!!”
