Scotland star Steven Naismith has warned his team-mates that no player is guaranteed a place in the squad ahead of the upcoming games against Qatar and Republic of Ireland.

Manager Gordon Strachan is set to announce his squad on Monday for the friendly against Qatar on June 5 before travelling to Dublin for their crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Ireland.

And the Everton attacker believes competition for places is fierce.

“I think with everybody that’s in the squad your performance level has to be at its maximum or you know there is somebody champing at the bit to take your place. I think that is what is driving everybody on.”
