Hibernian have confirmed that they have parted company with first team boss Lee Johnson following yesterday’s 3-2 loss at home to Livingston.
In a statement on the club’s website Chief Executive Ben Kensell said:
“The Club has taken the tough decision to relieve Lee Johnson of his duties following a disappointing start to the domestic campaign.
“We wish Lee and his coaching staff all the best for the future and thank them for their efforts.”
The club have confirmed that Jamie McAllister and Adam Owen have also departed, with David Gray taking charge of the First Team as Caretaker Manager for the immediate future.
Johnson was appointed in May 2022 and led Hibs to a 5th place finish in last season’s campaign. After a heavy first leg loss to Aston Villa in the 1st leg of their Europa Conference League qualifier and three successive league defeats to start the season, the Leith side have made the move to remove the former Bristol City and Sunderland boss from the hotseat.
