Robbie Neilson has this evening been sacked as the manager of Heart of Midlothian with the side sitting fourth in the cinch Premiership.
The board have made the move ahead of next weekend’s Edinburgh derby after the Gorgie side suffered five straight losses.
Neilson returned to the club for his second spell as manager in June 2020 with the club in the Scottish Championship and was in the dugout for two Scottish Cup finals, as well as securing European groups stage football for the first time since the 2004/05 season.
An announcement read: “Heart of Midlothian Football Club can confirm that it has parted company with manager Robbie Neilson.”
“We’d like to thank Robbie for all of his efforts. A full statement from the Board of Directors will be released in due course. No further comment will be made today.”
