The ten men of Motherwell hold onto their lead at Tynecastle which puts them on tied points with Celtic at the top end of the Premiership table.
The visitors got their goal through Callum Slattery in the first half with a lovely finish from close range beyond Zander Clark. The goal was checked by VAR for a possible offside but much to the delight of the Well support the goal was given.

The Fir Park outfit looked more like the side that had European business to take care off compared to their opponents today. The Gorgie side have recorded just the one win so far out of a possible four Premiership games.

Motherwell were dealt with a blow on the 68th minute when Paul McGinn was shown red for descent after originally being booked for a foul on Boyce. Leaving his teammates to see out the final 20 minutes of the game without him.

The second half was a much brighter performance from Steven Naismith’s side, both Lawrence Shankland and Liam Boyce testing Liam Kelly on more than one occasion. But the Steelmen held on and defended well to secure the victory to and head into the international break in a good position.
