17 Nov Hibs 2-1 Livingston: Keatings keeps heat on Gers
A double from James Keatings ensured Hibernian moved to within two points of leaders Rangers after a narrow victory over Livingston, but manager Alan Stubbs was keen to play down the result.
It was Hibs’ 13th win in 14 games as Stubbs’ side continue to ramp up the pressure on Rangers who have a game in hand.
Hibs fans faced an anxious wait before the deadlock was broken through Keatings early in the second half.
And a quickfire second from the former Hearts striker just after the hour mark rendered Jordyn Sheerin’s late reply only a consolation.
Stubbs felt the scoreline flattered Livi but insists the result doesn’t change anything in the title race.
“At 2-0 we were in command of the game and a little bit of carelessness let them in,” he told BBC Sport.
“We had plenty of chances so is 2-1 a fair reflection on the game? Probably not.
“We weren’t at the level we’ve been at but the most important thing is we’ve won the game.
“Where we are in the league is irrelevant. All we’ve done is win another game of football and there’s a long, long way to go.”
