Southgate new England boss

Gareth Southgate is the new England manager after agreeing a four year deal with the FA.

The 46 year old succeeds Sam Allardyce, who stepped down after becoming embroiled in a sting operation conducted by the Telegraph newspaper in which reporters posing as businessmen recorded him offering to help them to get around FA third party ownership rules.

Southgate was appointed interim manager in September for four games in which he secured 2 wins and 2 draws. One of the wins a crucial world cup qualifying victory over Scotland at Wembley.

The new England manager is reportedly being paid £2million per year
