
Barry Ferguson insists Rangers’ league clash with Hibernian will be more difficult for Steven Gerrard’s side than the Old Firm tie on December 29.
The Light Blues face a confident Hibees side at Easter Road tonight in a bid to hold onto top spot in the league table, as rivals Celtic take on Motherwell.
Neil Lennon’s team ran out convincing 2-0 winners over the SPFL champions on Sunday and the former Ibrox skipper believes the Edinburgh side will be their toughest test this month.
He told PLZ Soccer: “I’ll be keen watching the game tonight because this is the biggest one for me. They need to get this one out of the road.
“I watched a Hibs team on top form [on Sunday] this is the hardest game out of them all tonight.”
When asked by host Peter Martin would this match be harder than the Celtic game, he said: “They need to win this one tonight.
“I’m not concerned about the Celtic game on the 29th, I would be concerned with Rangers winning this game tonight. This is the most important one… mentally they need to do it.”
