Celtic midfielder James Forrest believes the supporters will give boyhood Rangers fan Scott Allan their full backing if he does end up signing for the club.
Allan, who was the subject of three failed bids from the Light Blues and handed in a transfer request to Hibernian, is closing in on a move to Celtic subject to completion of a medical.
And Forrest says his allegiance to their rivals will not affect the reception he will get from the supporters.
“Once you start playing games then everything [like that] gets forgotten about,” he said.
“I’m sure the fans will get right behind Allan because he will be a really good player for Celtic.
“I know him from playing through the youth and him coming through at Dundee United. I’ve seen him play at Hibs and I think he could definitely fit in here.
“He’s got a lot of flair and good going forward. He’s technically really good and the type of player that Celtic look for.
“A massive club like Celtic is always looking to bring in top quality players and I’m definitely sure that he can come here and do really well.”
