Celtic handed boost with FIVE stars to return for Aberdeen and Rangers double header

Celtic have been handed a boost after Brendan Rodgers revealed their injury woes are set to ease up ahead of the double header against Aberdeen and Rangers.

Dedryck Boyata, Kieran Tierney, Mikael Lustig, Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic are all set to return to the starting line-up after missing crucial league action through injury.

The Hoops boss said: “Thankfully, Dedryck’s injury was only a slight, grade-one hamstring.┬áHe’s been out on the pitch, so we will see where he is at towards the weekend.

“He has a good chance for the Aberdeen and Rangers games – absolutely. He’s a big player for us. You see the solidity he gives. I like to have real pace in one of my centre-halves and he gives you that.

“He lets you squeeze your line and be nice and compact as a team. When he doesn’t play, we really miss him – but he will be back soon.

“When Ryan was carried off, I feared the worst. He came out of the stadium on crutches and went straight for the MRI scan. But that came up really positive and, in fairness to him, he’s thrown the crutches away now.

“He is in such great form and doesn’t want it to end. But we have to be careful with him. He’s been out running on the grass and we’ll see how he goes for the rest of the week.

“For Mika, again it could be the weekend. Tom Rogic may be the weekend. At the latest, he will be available for Aberdeen.

“Kieran, we will see. He is still in pain, so we just need to see whether it is Wednesday or the weekend.”
