Celtic to face Astana if they get through

By July 20, 2016No Comments

Celtic will face Astana in the third round of Champions League qualifying should they get past Lincoln Red Imps.

The Hoops trail 1-0 after the first leg following Lee Casciaro’s decisive strike which sent shockwaves around Europe as Celtic suffered one of the worst results in the club’s history.

However, they have the chance to atone for that embarrassment at Celtic Park in the second leg on Wednesday.

Should they succeed like many expect them to, then, they will face a trip to Kazakhstan to face Astana, who squeezed through at the expense of Zalgiris Vilnius after a last-gap winner in a 2-1 win at home (2-1 on aggregate).
