Former Rangers striker Jon Daly has tipped his former Dundee United team-mate Scott Allan to be a success at Celtic.
The Hibernian midfielder looks set to join the Hoops after the two clubs agreed a deal, with Dylan McGeouch and Liam Henderson going in the opposite direction – the latter on loan.
The 23-year-old was the subject of three unsuccessful bids from Rangers and handed in a transfer request after the second of those bids were turned down by Hibs.
Now Allan, who is a boyhood Rangers fan, is close to completing a deal to join their rivals and former team-mate Daly believes he has the quality to make at Celtic Park.
“It’s hard to turn down a team like Celtic,” he told Peter and Roughie’s Football Show.
“Champions League football looks like it could be on the horizon and the pinnacle of any player is to go and play in that. He’s certainly a top player and would add to their side.
“I played with him at Dundee United and you could see then as a young lad before he went down south he had all the attributes needed to play at a really high level.
“He has vision and the technical ability to back that up. He can play that pass or killer ball and even last year you could see he was the heartbeat at Hibs.”
