Celtic boss Ronny Deila is bullish about his side’s chances in the Europa League after the draw was made on Friday.
The Hoops dropped into the competition after defeat to Malmo in the Champions League play-off and they’ve been put in Group A alongside Ajax, Fenerbahce and Molde.
And Norwegian boss Deila says on their day Celtic could beat any of those teams and is looking forward to the challenge.
“When we are at our best we know we can beat anybody in that group but our lowest level has also shown we can lose against anybody,” he said.
“We have to work on the performances so we can get results in the group and get a run in Europe.
“There are a lot of big teams there and there’s going to be exciting games at home and away.”
Deila also clarified what he said with regards to his players being “scared” which captain Scott Brown and Kris Commons both rejected.
Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon also says he’s happy with the draw.
He said: “It’s a good draw as there are some very good teams and difficult opponents but that is who you want to test yourself against.
“You want to play in the big games. It’s a difficult group but we are looking forward to it.”
