Ronny Deila says he isn’t frustrated by reports linking other managers to his position as he is only focused on bringing silverware to Celtic.

In an exclusive interview with PLZ Soccer, David Moyes spoke of his love for Celtic and said that managing the club would always be appealing, while Malky Mackay and Neil Lennon have also been linked with the role.

Deila though brushed off suggestions that he would be in any way affected by the speculation.

Asked if he was frustrated, he said: “No, it doesn’t frustrate me at all. I’ve been on the other side of it before and I’ve been on this side.

“I am the Celtic manager and I want to stay. I want to fight to get four trophies in two years and fight for five in a row. There’s a lot going on but whatever happens outside of that I can’t use any energy on.

“I feel very comfortable and I’m excited for the games coming up so that’s my main focus.”

Title challengers Aberdeen could potentially be playing a weakened Motherwell side after a virus swept through the first team, leaving them with just six available first team players training on Thursday.

It could mean the Steelmen may request a postponement if they don’t have enough first-team players fit for Saturday but Deila says he isn’t worried about that game or what the Dons do as long as his side keep winning.

“I don’t think about that. We need to win our games. Everything is in our hands there are nine games left now and we just need to keep on winning and performing well. The others can do whatever they want.

“The rules are clear. The game was called off for us in the Motherwell U20s on Tuesday so you have to have enough available players.”

Celtic travel to Rugby Park to face a Kilmarnock side whom they’ve yet to beat this season and Deila says it will be another hard game against a side battling against the drop.

“It’s always tough at the end of the season to meet teams who are fighting relegation,” he said.

“It’s Cup finals every week for them but it’s the same for us. We want to be very prepared for the game and will not give them anything to get confident about.

“When you see the game we should have won it. We have beat them before. I don’t think they beat us last season so we have a good chance.”
