Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc says the club are close to completing a deal for Manchester attacker Angel Di Maria.
The Argentine, who moved to Old Trafford for a record British transfer fee last season, has struggled to adapt to life in the English Premier League and his form has suffered as a result.
Speculation continues to mount about his future after Di Maria was left behind in United’s pre-season tour of the United States but, ahead a friendly between the two sides in Chicago, Blanc told the press he is confident about a deal being struck.
“The matter is close to being finished,” the PSG boss said. “I’m rather positive about it but, in transfers, we have seen what can happen — so as long as it’s not official…
“When I tell you that, it’s the truth. The most important thing is to see him in the PSG squad. But as you know, he belongs to a great club called Manchester United. Be patient!”
Di Maria would become PSG’s third summer signing following the arrival of Kevin Trapp and Benjamin Stambouli. United are reportedly looking at Barcelona attacker Pedro as a replacement for Di Maria.
