Dundee have confirmed they will appeal the red card showing to Scott Bain in the Dundee derby.
The goalkeeper was sent off by Steven McLean after bringing down Dundee United striker Billy McKay in the box. McKay netted the spotkick which was the catalyst for a fight back in the 2-2 draw at Tannadice.
Having reviewed video evidence, the club believe they have grounds to appeal as Kevin Holt was a covering defender and McKay’s touch took the ball away from goal.
A statement on the club’s website said: “We can confirm that we have submitted an appeal against the red card given to Scott Bain during the match against Dundee United on Sunday.”
Bain is currently on international duty with Scotland.
