‘Dundee will struggle to hold on to talented duo’

Dundee assistant boss Gerry McCabe admits the club will struggle to hold on to talented duo Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings.

Both have impressed this season and both were nominated for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award by their peers.

Hemmings has scored 25 goals for Dundee and has been linked with clubs in England, while Greg Stewart has attracted interest from Rangers.

Hemmings conceded that if clubs from down south come calling then it’s something he would have to consider at the time.

“Yeah, of course he’s right,” McCabe told PLZ Soccer. “You want to play at the highest level you possibly can.

“He knows the manager has given him a platform to go and play at Dundee and he has took it and Greg Stewart is the same.

“Obviously with the season they’ve had they are going to attract the attention of bigger clubs.

“No disrespect to our club Dundee but when you’re scoring 25 goals – and anyone who has been watching Greg Stewart performances week-in, week-out – then the big guns are going to come calling.”
