The PFA awards are a night of celebrating high quality displays.
Riyad Mahrez was the big winner on the night but it was one to forget for the PFA programme editors.
Printing errors were rife in the official publication, a fact not missed by the players who took to social media to point them out…
Middlesbrough’s Adam Clayton was selected for the Championship team of the year, though you might have thought that it was Arsenal ladies’ Danielle Carter
Northampton goalkeeper Adam Smith was quick to point out his team-mate Ricky Holmes had been mixed up with Walsall’s Romaine Sawyers, who represents St Kitts & Nevis.
Holmes later responded by saying that he’d: “Never even been to St Kitt’s and Nevis!”
The embarrassment was not to end there though for the PFA, having already previously released a 12-man, first-11 selection by mistake.
Stan Collymore tweeted a photo of the Tottenham Hotspur match programme for the match the following day, indicating that the club knew that Delle Alli would win the Young Player of the Year award in advance of the announcement.
Think these are a few programmes that won’t be going into the collection.
