30 Nov Garner will get goals for Rangers
Falkirk striker, Lee Miller has backed Joe Garner to hit the goal trail and win the Rangers fans over.
The 28 year old signed for the Ibrox club in August from Preston North End for a fee of around £1.8m, but has failed to set the heather alight in Scottish football.
The Ibrox striker has received criticism for his lack of goals with only 3 scored from 12 appearances.
Rangers manager, Mark Warburton has defended his player saying he needs time to settle in and understand the pace and pressures of the game in Scotland.
Miller played with Garner at Scunthorpe and Carlisle and believes the misfiring hit-man will turn it around and win the Rangers fans over.
“I know Joe well, I played with him at Scunthorpe and Carlisle. What you see is what you get with Joe, he is a hard worker, a grafter and he can finish.
He is getting a lot of criticism just now, but he’s big enough and he’s strong enough to take it, I think there is a lot more to come from Joe Garner.
He’s getting a lot of stick, but he must have known that before he came up here. Rangers is a massive club and you need to hit the ground running.”
Miller believes the Rangers fans will see the best of Garner if they give hime time.
“The Rangers fans need to realise, they have got a natural finisher. It’s just one of those things, sometimes it doesn’t happen for you straight away at a club.
If the manager sticks by him, he should do well.”
