Norwich City have reportedly made an approach to Celtic regarding a potential swap deal which would see Leigh Griffiths move to the Premier League side and Gary Hooper return to Celtic Park.
Norwich boss Alex Neil is keen to bolster his attacking options after missing out on key targets such as Mattia Destro and Benik Afobe and sees Griffiths as an ideal signing.
The 25-year-old scored a double in Celtic’s 3-2 win over Malmo on Wednesday, taking his tally to six goals in nine games this season.
Celtic are unlikely to sell the former Hibernian forward though as he is part of Ronny Deila’s plans.
However, Norwich have suggested swapping Hooper, who enjoyed a successful three seasons with the Hoops before moving to Carrow Road, to sweeten the deal.
Hooper would be welcomed to Celtic Park to reinforce the Scottish champions striking options but it is unlikely to be part of a deal which would see Griffiths leave the club.
