Former Manchester City striker Gordon Smith believes Pep Guardiola is destined to manage the club.
The Bayern Munich boss announced on Tuesday that he would be joining a Premier League outfit in the summer once his contract at Bayern expires though remained tightlipped on where he would end up.
Smith, who was top scorer for City in the 1984-85 season, feels he’ll be at the Etihad Stadium despite reported interest from a number of clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
“He was in Germany I understand that Bayern offered him a great deal because of how successful he’s been but he knocked it back,” he told Peter and Roughie’s Football Show.
“It can only be the two or three clubs at most who can afford him which would be Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea but I think Manchester City are the red-hot favourites.”
