Hibernian have confirmed they’ve signed Adam Eckersley on a short-term deal.
The former Hearts full-back has joined the club until January and follows striker James Keatings in swapping the other half of Edinburgh.
Eckersley, who made 24 Championship appearances for Hearts last season before leaving the club in the summer, says he hopes to make an impact at Easter Road.
“I’m delighted to have signed for Hibs,” the 30-year-old told the club’s official website.
“We have a strong squad here and I’ll be working hard to push myself into the manager’s plans.
“I know I can do well here and am looking forward to helping the team in the coming months.”
Hibs boss Alan Stubbs believes Eckersley provides extra depth to the side.
“We’re very pleased to have Adam join the club,” he said.
“He strengthens our defensive options and adds to the competition for places in defence.
“He has shown his ability at this level in the past and I’m confident he’ll make a positive contribution here.”
