Hibernian’s latest striker Dylan Vente is confident he can start notching goals at Easter Road with the number 9 on his back.
The Dutch striker has signed a three year deal and says he is delighted to be joining the Leith side after spending the last two seasons in Holland with Roda JC, where he has racked up 44 goals.
“I’m a striker who was scoring goals the last two seasons that were pretty good so I have that feeling that I want to bring over to this club, running behind defenders and scoring goals is the most I important thing” Vente said.
Previously the 24-year old spent four years with Feyenoord featuring regularly in the first team in his first two seasons and revealed a chat with Hibernian boss Lee Johnson was a big help in securing his move to the capital.
“I’m more of a feelings person” Vente added. “He said things that were true about myself and about my qualities and what I have to be better at plus I think it gave me a good feeling for the club so that was the most important thing.”
The striker also said he’s delighted to have the iconic strikers number on his back.
“As a striker you always want number 9, at my former club I also played number 9 and I think its the biggest number for a striker so I’m very happy and delighted that I can have that number, yeh lets start making goals in that number”.
The club will be hopeful they have now found a replacement on the front line for Kevin Nisbet who departed in the Summer for a move to Millwall in the English Championship.
