Dunfermline provided the shock of the second round in the Scottish League Cup defeating Dundee 3-1 at East End Park.

Hearts fielded a much weakened side as they travelled to Forfar. The Jambos may have won their opening five games on their return to the Scottish Premiership but they had to wait until 70 minutes before Kevin McHattie broke the deadlock against the Loons.
Michael Dunlop then produced an equaliser to force the game into extra time before Danny Denholm received a second yellow on 90 minutes.
Callum Paterson ensured victory for Robbie Neilson’s men before Forfar were reduced to nine men when Kevin Nicoll was given a red card near the end.
Elsewhere there was some brief respite for Gary Locke as his Kilmarnock side won 4-1 against Berwick Rangers, Championship sides Falkirk and Raith put out Premiership opposition in the form of Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies, while Ross County won 2-0 against Ayr United.
Airdrie versus Rangers and Hibernian against Stranraer are on Wednesday.
