Shay Logan has ended months of speculation about his future after signing a new two-year deal with Aberdeen, the club have announced.
Logan, who joined the club from Brentford in 2014, looked to be on his way out of Pittodrie as reports suggested he wanted to be closer to his family down in Manchester.
However, the 28-year-old committed his future to the club on Thursday, signing on until the summer of 2018.
“I was always confident we could try and get there and get a deal done,” Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes told the club’s official website.
“It is absolutely brilliant news.
“Shay since he came to the club two and a half years ago has been very consistent with his performances and has become a firm favourite with everyone at the club including the supporters.
“I am sure they will be delighted with the news that he has committed himself to us.
“It has been well documented his situation is not the norm for most players but his love of the club has never been in question and we are delighted what Shay has given to us over the past two and a half years and delighted to have him for the foreseeable future.”
