St Johnstone midfielder Chris Millar says he would be in favour of video technology for referees.
The international football board wants to carry out pilot schemes to see how it would work out practically in a game scenario and will hold a meeting in March to make a final decision.
It could see the technology being implemented in next season’s Scottish Cup and Millar is backing the proposal.
“Anything that helps the referees can only be considered a good thing,” he told Peter and Roughie’s Football Show.
“Take for instance the Willie Collum decision where it strikes the defender’s midriff and he gives a penalty.
“It’s those big decisions that are defining, costing points and win bonuses for players as well and you want to try and help the referee and give them as much chance as possible.”
