Motherwell dealt injury blow as Chris Cadden is ruled out for FOUR months

Chris Cadden has handed Motherwell an injury blow after it was revealed the midfielder will be out for four months.

The 22-year-old ripped his patella tendon during the Fir Park side’s 7-1 hammering by Rangers two weeks ago.

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson said: “Chris saw a specialist on Monday and is going to be out for nearly four months.

“It’s a freak injury. There was nobody near him and he’s passed the ball and torn one of his tendons. He felt a nip in his knee and he has a slight tear.

“He doesn’t need surgery, but it would probably be a similar timeline if he did. We have been unfortunate with injuries.

“Craig Tanner’s was a freak injury, Trevor is a freak situation, Charles Dunne had a groin injury no one knew existed at the time.

“We’ve got people waiting in the wings and they have to take their opportunity.”
