Mourinho pleased with Costa response

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is pleased with the response of temperamental attacker Diego Costa and insists there is no uncertainty surrounding the striker’s future.

Costa appeared frustrated at being left on the bench in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Spurs last weekend as he threw a bib in the direction of his manager.

Nevertheless, ahead of the encounter against Bournemouth, Mourinho allayed fears over Costa’s future and was pleased with his response to being dropped.

“I don’t know why [there is speculation on his future]. There are no question marks for me. He always gives his best.

“He has always played. He was on the bench for one match, which I think is more than natural. No problems at all. I think he always gives his best, sometimes he is phenomenal.

“Costa has been very good – I cannot say better than ever, normally he trains well, that’s the only thing that matters.”
