New Rangers signing Nedim Bajrami reveals he sought the advice of a few former SPFL players plying their trade in Italy before making the move to Ibrox.
The Albanian international was a £3.4 million deadline day capture from Sassuolo and revealed a couple of familiar names who talked up the Scottish game.
“I spoke with with a few players who played in Scotland – Josh Doig and Liam Henderson.” Bajrami revealed.
“With Liam (Henderson) I played at Empoli and with Josh (Doig) I played at Sassuolo. They told me good things about Scotland and also the football.”
The 25-year old admitted however that it was ‘stressful’ getting the deal over the line as the clock ticked down to the transfer window closing.
He added: “I was at home in the morning and my agent called me and told me we need to be ready to fly because we had to go to London, I just did everything there…the next day I came to Glasgow. I met the sporting director, the coach and I went to Ibrox Stadium. It was really stressful but I’m really happy to be here.”
