O’Halloran dreams of Scotland call-up

St Johnstone midfielder Michael O’Halloran admits he is dreaming of a chance to play for Scotland.

The Saints man has made an impressive start to the season which prompted manager Tommy Wright to suggest O’Halloran wouldn’t be long in waiting for a call from national boss Gordon Strachan.

And O’Halloran, who’s scored two goals and assisted five others, says he would love the opportunity to play for his country.

“I picked up a few under-21 caps when I was at Bolton and it is nice to hear the manager here talking about me in potential Scotland terms. It shows he has confidence in me,” he told PA Sport.

“You have to aim high. The national team were really unlucky pushing for the Euros and I’d like to think one day I can get into the full Scotland squad.

“I am enjoying myself and I am ready to go again. I have been playing consistently on the back of a good season last year.”
