Mark Warburton’s search for a defensive midfielder continues as Rangers miss out on Brentford’s Toumani Diagouraga after Leeds United had a bid accepted for the player.
Diagouraga handed in a transfer request which was rejected by Brentford after Rangers made an offer for the player earlier in January. However, that bid – believed to be in region of £100,000 – was turned down.
The 28-year-old had played under Mark Warburton whilst at the Bees and admitted he was flattered in the Scottish Championship’s side interest
However, Leeds United boss Steve Evans confirmed that the Frenchman has signed for them on Friday on a two-and-a-half year deal, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
