Scotland have been handed a boost before their upcoming clash with Germany after Marco Reus was ruled out after he broke his toe, the German FA (DFB) confirmed on Thursday.
Reus, who has made an impressive start to the season – scoring six goals in seven games – suffered the injury in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin last week.
“The painful injury which the 25-times capped international sustained in the Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin makes his participation in the two international matches impossible,” A German statement read.

“Further treatment will be undertaken at Borussia Dortmund.”
Reus featured in Germany’s 2-1 victory over Scotland last September.
