Scotland must win

There will no grey areas clouding Scotland’s game plan on Sunday as they try to rescue their World Cup ambitions, according to boss Gordon Strachan.

The Scots’ hopes of reaching Russia 2018 have been left dangling by a thread after collecting just four points from their first four games.

And Strachan confesses anything less than a win when Slovenia visit Hampden on Sunday night will spell the end of another qualification bid.

But the national team boss hopes that clarity of focus will ensure his men get the result they desperately require.

He said: “There’s no grey areas to it. It’s must-win. That’s dealing with reality. We have to win.

“But sometimes when you have a challenge like that in life, it brings the best out of you s o we will have a team ready for that challenge of ‘must win’ tomorrow.

“What we don’t have to do is win it in the first five or 10 minutes. You never know in big games when your opportunity will come along.

“However, what we do have to do is make opportunities and the players we pick tomorrow will make those opportunities.”
