Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo walked out of a press conference after being asked but his goal-scoring record away from home.
The Portuguese star has 32 goals this season but hasn’t netted away from the Bernabeu since November 29 against Eibar. That’s four games without a goal away from home since then.
Ronaldo has scored 21 goals at home this term, and 11 in the group stages of the Champions League but a question about his goals away from home from a reporter certainly rankled with him.
“Who else has scored more goals away from home than me since I arrived in Spain?” Ronaldo asked.
“Name one player who has scored more than me. No answer? OK. Thank you.”
Ronaldo has hailed Roma legend Francesco Totti as an “example for everyone to follow”.
Ronaldo was speaking as Roma and Real Madrid go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League last-16 and paid tribute to Totti who is coming to the end of glittering career for the Giallorossi.
The 39-year-old has been at Roma since he was a teenager and is the club’s top goalscorer with an incredible 300 goals and Ronaldo praised the World Cup winner for his longevity.
“He is awesome, an example for everyone,” Ronaldo said. “He shows age isn’t important. “He might be at his best now. It’s good for him, good for football. He shows that there are no limits in football.”
