It was a fairly busy day on the final day of the transfer window in Scotland compared to recent seasons.
And there was much activity at Celtic Park. The biggest move of the day saw Virgil van Dijk make the switch from the Hoops to Southampton for £11.5 million and defender Jozo Simunovic has been brought in from Dinamo Zagreb in a £5.5m deal to help fill the void.
Inverness CT attacker Ryan Christie also put pen to paper on a four-year deal to join the Scottish champions, but the highly rated youngster will return to the Highlanders until at least January.
Stefan Scepovic left the club to join Getafe on a season-long loan, while Eoghan O’Connell joins Oldham Athletic on a short-term deal until January 2016
Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Dundee United striker Robbie Muirhead joined Partick Thistle on loan, while Jags’ hot prospect Jack Hendry has moved to Wigan.
United bolstered their squad with additions of Fulham striker Adam Taggart and Reading midfielder Aaron Kuhl on short-term deals.
Kilmarnock picked up Hearts full-back Kevin McHattie after he was released from the Tynecastle outfit.
Inverness also brought in Miles Storey, on loan from Swindon, and Tobi Sho-Silva, on loan from Charlton to boost their attacking options.
Motherwell signed Manchester United’s U21 defender Liam Grimshaw.
Perhaps the most intriguing the transfer of the day was at Easter Road as Hibernian signed Chelsea’s Islam Feruz on a season-long loan and also brought in Dundee United’s Henri Anier.
There were no new faces in at Rangers but Robbie Crawford and Andy Murdoch joined Alloa and Cowdenbeath on loan.
