Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn says scoring goals is a bonus but the real target is to help the team achieve promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
Waghorn has scored an impressive 17 goals this season but only two have come in his last five games but the 25-year-old isn’t worried about the goals drying up.
“The goals are a bonus but all I’m really focusing on is promotion and getting back into the SPL,” he said.
Rangers take on St Mirren in the semi-final of the Petrofac Training Cup this weekend and Waghorn says he needs no extra incentive to reach the final.
“It’s massive any player wants to get to finals and win trophies in their career. For me, personally, it would be my first final that I’ve played in so I’m really looking forward to it.
“I think it also sets a marker down of where we want to go and what we want to achieve.”
