Nade ready thanks to fitness coach

Hamilton Accies striker Christian Nade insists he is primed for a return to action after being put through his paces by a fitness coach whom he describes as a ‘murderer’.

Nade, 31, has found his first-team opportunities limited by striker Carlton Morris this season, coming off the bench to feature in the last five games.

His last start was against Aberdeen on September 15 but thanks to Accies fitness coach Colin Clancy, he says he’s ready if called upon to play the full 90 minutes against St Johnstone.

“The fitness coach knows how to keep me on my toes. The training is a really high level, the Tuesday and the Wednesday are really, really hard,” he said.

“He’s a murderer! He’s one of the best I have worked with.

“He makes you work really, really hard and smiles, so you cannot even be angry at him. You just have to try to please him, and when you see the results you are happy and want more and more.

“I’ve been on the bench for a while now and when you only play 20 minutes, it’s not easy. It’s actually harder than starting the game.

“But I think I have done well and if I get an opportunity to start I need to be ready for that.

“As a player of course it’s frustrating but he’s doing very well and the team is doing very well so there is no complaint about that.

“I just have to keep myself on my toes and if there is any opportunity I need to take it and embrace it.”
