Neilson and Hughes issued complaints

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson and Inverness CT manager John Hughes have both been issued notices of complaint by the Scottish FA for criticising the performances of referees.

Neilson was handed the complaint because his post-match comments about referee Willie Collum allegedly implied “incompetency or bias” on the part of the official.

The Hearts boss claimed they had trained with 10 men in the run-up to the game against Hamilton Accies after they found out Collum would be officiating.

The Midlothian outfit were reduced to 10 men in that game after Callum Paterson was sent off but it has since been overturned.

Neilson stood by his comments and was served the complaint on Tuesday. Hearts have already appealed the decision.

Meanwhile, Inverness boss Hughes has also been handed a complaint after criticising referee Andrew Dallas following the match against Dundee.

Hughes questioned whether Dallas was capable of officiating in the top flight. The club have until September 22 to respond to the complaint.

Both hearings will be held on October 1.
