Celtic's Høgh or Durán debate after win at Easter Road
The Football Show looked back on Hibs 1-2 Celtic and asked whether Kasper Høgh should make way for Durán through the middle.
By PLZ Soccer,
On The Football Show, the panel reviewed Hibs 1-2 Celtic at Easter Road before turning to a selection question for Celtic: whether Kasper Høgh should keep his place or make way for Durán.
The match was summed up in one line: "the wind kills the game". Durán's goal was part of the discussion, as was Grant Hanley playing up front for Hibs. That segment also carried a message to the board.
New managers and the armband
Marink Reedijk's first weeks were assessed, including his change of captain. The panel considered how new managers are judged after three games, and whether captains matter at all, with Hibs and the armband the focus of that debate.
Johnston's hamstring
Alistair Johnston's hamstring was back on the agenda, with the problem flaring up again.
Høgh or Durán
The central debate opened with "Kasper who?" The question put was whether Celtic should drop Høgh and play Durán "right through the middle".
Numbers were at the heart of the argument. As one line put it: "You as a striker live and die by stats."
Domestic and European standards
The discussion closed on the gap between Celtic at home and Celtic in Europe. The point made was that Celtic "can get away with a lot of mistakes domestically", but that the same allowance does not exist in European competition.
That contrast framed the striker debate. A choice that might not be punished in the Premiership carries more weight when the level rises, and the panel set the Høgh and Durán question against that backdrop.
