Levski Sofia edge Viktoria Plzeň 2-1 in Europa League
Everton Bala and Reinaldo scored as Levski Sofia won 2-1 in Plzeň, with the visitors restoring their lead two minutes after Christophe Kabongo had equalised.

Levski Sofia left the Doosan Arena with a 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzeň on Thursday night in the third round of Europa League fixtures. The goal that settled it came from Reinaldo barely two minutes after the home side had drawn level. Everton Bala had put the visitors ahead just before half-time, and Christophe Kabongo's equaliser on 63 minutes turned out to be only a brief reprieve.
A goal on the stroke of half-time
Bala scored in the 44th minute, which meant Plzeň went into the interval a goal down rather than level. The timing matters more than the minute alone suggests. A goal that late in the first half leaves the side behind with no time before the break to respond, and it meant Plzeň began the second half needing to score to get anything from the evening.
For Levski, it was the ideal moment to take the lead. They held it for the opening stretch of the second half before the game turned twice in quick succession.
Two goals in two minutes
Kabongo brought Plzeň level on 63 minutes, making it 1-1 and giving the home side nearly half an hour of normal time to find a winner. At that point the result could have gone any way.
It did not stay that way for long. Reinaldo restored Levski's lead in the 65th minute, and that sequence is the heart of the match. Whatever Plzeň gained by equalising lasted around two minutes. Teams that concede so soon after scoring rarely get the chance to build on the goal they have just scored, and here the visitors gave them no time to do so.
No way back
There were no further goals after Reinaldo's. Plzeň had the remaining 25 minutes of normal time to find a second equaliser and did not manage it. The scoreline alone cannot say how close they came, or how comfortably Levski saw the game out, so it would be wrong to read too much into that final period either way. What can be said is that Levski led for the large majority of the second half and conceded only once across the 90 minutes.
What the result shows
On the scoresheet, this was a match decided by two well-timed goals from the visitors. Levski scored on either side of the hour-mark spell that might have belonged to Plzeň: once just before the break, and once almost immediately after the home side had pulled level. That is the outline of a side taking its moments when they mattered most.
For Plzeň, it was a home defeat in European competition, and the margin was a single goal. That leaves room to argue that the game was there to be drawn, particularly given how quickly the decisive goal followed their own. One result is a thin basis for wider conclusions about either side, and this one is best taken for what it was: a narrow away win for Levski Sofia, built on timing.
