After Celtic 1-2 Celta Vigo, a third Europa League defeat in three, Peter Martin said of Martin O'Neill: "He's been muzzled."

By PLZ Soccer,

On The Football Show, Peter Martin turned his attention to Martin O'Neill after Celtic's 1-2 defeat to Celta Vigo, a third Europa League defeat in three. "He's been muzzled," said Martin, adding that "he's defending the indefensible".

The result was described on the show as "an absolute disaster". Celtic have now scored three goals and conceded nine across their three games in the competition.

Celtic's place in Europe

Tam McManus and Gordon Parks debated whether "Celtic are probably a Conference League team now", and the discussion widened to what the panel called "the inadequacies of Scottish football".

Peter Martin's verdict was blunt: "European football has parked Celtic."

Young players and the back four

The show picked up Tony Docherty's warning that only one under-21 played 90 minutes for a Premiership club last weekend, a figure met with the response "That's death". The panel also noted that "Celta Vigo had a younger team than Celtic last night".

The goals in the 1-2 were broken down, with Colby Donovan and the back four under scrutiny, along with Hassan, Nygren, Baur and McGregor. The panel also looked at Celta's passing.

The board and the summer

Questions about the direction of the club ran through the discussion. The panel asked whether McGregor and O'Neill should have gone in the summer, and whether the fans can get the board out.

Neil Doncaster was also discussed, with the line "Selling a Lada with no engine".

Hibs v Celtic

Celtic travel to face Hibs on Sunday, and the panel assessed the home side as a Hibs team in transition.
