On The Football Show, Peter Martin, Alan Rough and Tam McManus previewed Saturday's meeting between St Mirren and Rangers, which kicks off at 8pm. They also discussed a new fans' survey, League Cup final tickets and face coverings at games.

Rangers keeping pace

The panel pointed to Rangers' form under Derek McInnes: "Seven wins and two draws, 23 points from 27." Tam McManus said: "They're scraping some results, but they're winning games and they're keeping the pressure on Celtic."

St Mirren were judged capable of causing an upset. The panel said St Mirren, "on their day, could cause Rangers problems, but they've been a wee bit Jekyll and Hyde this season." Both pundits went for a 2-1 Rangers win.

Penrice, Bouanani and Curtis

The show also asked whether Rangers should sign James Penrice. The verdict on him was: "I think he's a terrific player." Bouanani was described as "a cut-in merchant". The panel also considered whether Findlay Curtis can win a regular place in the side.

What fans want changed

The Scottish Football Union and Supporters Direct Scotland are running a survey asking supporters what they would change about Scottish football. It covers ticket prices, VAR, access and safety.

On the League Cup final, Hibs and Rangers each receive a 50/50 split of tickets, "but it's a hefty price". The panel debated whether Hibs should get an equal share. They also discussed corporate seating at Hampden, VAR and £45 tickets. One remark from that discussion was: "Billy Joel doesn't play with a flat back four."

Hoods and balaclavas

The show closed on whether hoods, masks and balaclavas should be banned at games. One response on the subject was: "I mean, it's bonkers."
